This
is the essential idea in "In Tuningland": by moving Bb a
half comma upwards (one unit in my system), we get a setup
called Bb+1 .
This D-1 from Bb+1 is then falling just in the middle between D 0 and D-2 in C 0. When you change the manual or patch digitally on a keyboard, the comma shift will always be halved. This is also the case the opposite way. C from C 0 falls in the middle between the C+1 and C-1 in Bb+1

Some tones from Bb+1
end up higher than in C 0 (eg
Bb and F) and some lower (eg G and E).
They thus merge into each other in a favorable manner. Below you can see where you will find the pure chords, and in which setup the chord is highest in pitch.
